AI for good

Unstream is my first attempt to build a “little tool to help reclaim agency”.

It’s also an example of where I think LLMs/AI can be used for good. An LLM can never replace human ingenuity or creativity (and yes I know it’s trained on this, often unethically), but it can help get ideas off the ground if (1) you know what you’re doing (2) you use it for noble causes. In this case, helping me figure out how to aggregate a bunch of better music platforms to help people support artists better.

I used Anthropic’s Claude Code (the Opus 4.5 model specifically) to help stand up the search and Mac app. I scoped & planned the entire app functionality, strategy, and design. I have a Claude Pro subscription through my day job, and I use it in that context to help with research & prototyping ideas for my team.

I never use it to create content or art.

If it were economically feasible to do so, I’d love to have a self-hosted model trained ethically on specific programming languages, UX principles & my product experience, and a developer to help me iterate on Unstream, but it’s not - so I’m doing what I can on my own with the tools I have.
