“fruit is year 3”

Today is another Bandcamp Friday, a day in which artists you support receive near-100% of what you pay, and Bandcamp waiving their cut. A good day to support an independent artist.

Yesterday I posted a cover of Honeycrush’s “fruit is year 3”, one of my favorite songs of 2024 on Bandcamp. I am a big fan of this artist, and we’re loosely internet friends thanks to the social platform Threads. This haunting little song in particular was stuck in my head for much of 2024. I had an idea to give it a dark industrial treatment (akin to Nine Inch Nails’ “10 miles high”), and with Alex’s endorsement, I made it so. My friend Patrick Hardy also chipped in with a gorgeous mix/master of my recording.
