I’ve been quiet lately, mainly for 3 reasons:
- Life at work and home has been busy, to put it lightly
- I’ve enjoyed more of my (limited) spare time revisiting & discovering music & art, as opposed to reading product management discourse
- A lot of 2023 tech news has led to a lot of reflection of my values, especially around my creative independence and use of technology
I had already been thinking about creative independence a lot lately – federating, self hosting my work, etc. – before all the recent news about Bandcamp’s acquisition and Substack’s… whatever that was.
Working at @Buffer, a company guided by principles of independence, efficiency and long-term ambition, only strengthened my desire to lean into this.
I’m excited to start sharing more about my journey figuring this out. First step: rebuilding my website and newsletter. More to share shortly (in between family holiday time and much-needed rest).
