Oh wow - so my salary transparency post yesterday got a lot of attention, and with that came a bunch of followers. (Ugh, don’t love that word.)

With that, I ask: what’s the norm now on LinkedIn for when people ask to connect when they follow you? Am I obligated to accept these invitations?

Only one person out of dozens actually sent a nice message (which also included a bit on why they reached out) with that connection request, and I immediately accepted.

The rest: I mean no disrespect; I simply have no idea what your deal is and I extremely limited time to sift through all this. Context isn’t only helpful, it’s kind.

So yeah: what’s the norm around this on LinkedIn now?
