I’m starting to use AI a bit 😱

My two main use cases for AI are

• Bouncing ideas for topics I don’t want to wait for others’ opinions on
• Automation of tedious tasks

I don’t use it in any of my music/writing, or for “prioritizing my work for me”, but it’s become quite helpful for other things, like getting product recommendations without having to scour Reddit or ask around, turning scratch notes into nice flowcharts in Figma, summarizing a meeting I missed but don’t have time to watch the recording.

It seems like the lines I’m drawing are

• what work do I enjoy doing vs. don’t, and
• what I want control over

Keeping very close to the creative process is very important to me, even in my day job. I personally do not think we can survive as a human race if we outsource creative decision making to a machine. But we can do more of that if we cut out the stuff we don’t care about as much.

What you choose to care about is obviously subjective, and this is the problem to address.
