It seems that the world runs on attention now. We are all incentivized to crave it and our leaders seem to be fueled by it. It feels equal parts banal & cruel: an eternal hamster wheel on which the loudest and richest ones win, a persistent sense of overwhelm and whiplash for everyone else including those unwilling to participate.

I have very complex feelings about all this. Sometimes the only to express them is to scream on repeat.

My next single, which feels fitting, is called:
“please please please listen to me I’m begging”
It drops 2/7 everywhere. Presave link in bio.

For those who find lore interesting: This single (like many of mine) goes back 12 years. It was actually intended as the debut single for my last solo project, as a reflection of how social media was feeling at the time. I was fascinated by the ramblings of one Francis E Dec (look him up!) and it inspired this mostly instrumental banger. I called it “off the rocker” at the time, as a nod to Dec.

It got a very small amount of hype on Soundcloud, leading to 2 remixes and a bit of international play. Then I got anxious and shelved it. It inspired some other tracks of mine (most obviously the chorus of “don’t wait”). It almost feels more relevant now on multiple levels.
