Okay I did something slightly unhinged.

I was feeling oddly inspired by @Michael Castelein’s post yesterday about adding a little financial incentive to his colleague’s LinkedIn posting goals 🤑 the underlying goals are set and maintained in @Buffer - but they had to agree to send each other money each time they made or missed their goal by a certain amount.

We happen to be working quite a bit right now on extending Buffer’s capabilities, including beefing up our Zapier integration. So I had a wild idea: What if someone were to build an automation that literally sent somebody money every time you missed your posting goal for the week???

This was a totally silly idea – but knowing what I know about some people, this is the right motivation to keep that posting habit going 😅

So, a quick chat with @Andrew Yates, and we have something for this already internally that I’m testing now 😱

You’ll soon be able to create cool automations based on your Buffer posting goals and anytime you achieve or miss them! I don’t know that I’d do this specific SEND YOUR MONEY AWAY thing, but maybe Michael will??? We’ll have to see 😜

Now if we also built this into our iOS Shortcuts support…
