Might be worth me quickly intro’ing myself so you know what you signed up for:

I’m Brandon. I do product management for a transparent, independent social media tech company called @Buffer; when I’m not doing that or being a dad/husband, I make music.

As a musician: I’ve also got 3 albums (+ 3 collaborative ones) out under the name Kid Lightbulbs, and if I’m honest, they’re very good. Think Nine Inch Nails produced Fiona Apple (but a dude singing) with varying degrees of density & abrasiveness. There’s lots of piano 🎹

I think art is vital, and I use my art to raise money for causes I care about – last month I divested profits to queer/trans creators. It’s all available to listen everywhere, but I much prefer (& appreciate!) you checking them out on my website or Bandcamp page (link in bio/comments).

I love what I do because I’m afforded a balance & harmony across those 3 things, and the values I can stick to across them all. I am energized by the intersection of being an independent creative person working for an independent business helping creators, so you’ll see me posting a lot about that.

I also write an occasional newsletter on that stuff (again, link in bio/comments).

I know a lot of people seek that sort of harmony with work in their lives, so I started recently posting each Friday about remote PM jobs that inch a little closer to the values that matter to me: transparency, work-life harmony, thoughtful design & execution, creativity, access to knowledge, things like that. I’ll continue to do this each Friday as long as there are good jobs worth sharing.
