I am thrilled to announce “the grass is quicksand”, the second single off my upcoming album INFINITE NORMAL, in time for the next Bandcamp Friday.

Inspired by discourse on social media following the 2024 US Presidential election, it’s a scathing rebuke of those whose expectations were not met and are angry about it. The song’s title and end refrain was directly inspired by a Threads post. It’s sarcastic frustration bottled up into a 5 minute relentless frenetic electronic alt-rock blues jam.
Like my previous release, this is an extended single exclusive to Bandcamp. It also includes:

• “grift”, a short instrumental that inspired some of “quicksand”'s rhythm section;
• “sabbatical”, an old outtake I considered for STEP INTO THE OCEAN and then was stripped for parts (more on that soon)
• an alternate take of “quicksand” stripped to its bare essentials - my voice and an acoustic guitar
