It suddenly feels like the biggest problem with adopting AI tools is also the most basic and unsurprising: context collapse.

When everyone is able to do so much more so much more quickly, it starts to feel impossible to remember everything that could be possibly going on.

Honest question: how are people handling this?

The only answer I’ve been able to come up with – fortunately one feels good to do anyway – is to evangelize a lot of time dedicated to reading and reflecting. Reading everyone’s project updates, discussions, reflections, sharing one’s own updates & reflections.

At least using an AI agent to succinctly distill all that into some useful signal and building a collective hive mind of everything at work. But I also don’t want to hand this entirely over to AI and retain my own perspective on things. So finding a balance here is tricky!

Theoretically, if autonomous AI agents are doing more of our work for us, we should be able to make time for that – right?
