I’m here with a PSA that, while Claude and ChatGPT are all the rage, you can access an entire swath of “second tier” models - all of which are open source - for $20/month via Ollama.

They’re really good now too. I’m entirely maintaining my side project Unstream with an OpenClaw agent with 3 sub-agents all running on said plan, plus a bunch of other personal and work-related flows, and I can do way more for $20 than I can with Claude Pro.

Plus your hardware is likely good enough to run a few of these models locally. And in a few years, you’ll be able to ethically train your own based on your own guiding principles on your own hardware. That’s what I’m looking most forward to.
